BR-05 is a roadway that spans over road 75, which is located on road no.77. Initially, the client’s preliminary design for the project included three separate bridges and an extra room for possible future road extensions.

However, with the collaboration of Via Bridges and the DB design team, the three bridges were merged into one, resulting in a reduced bridge budget. This innovative approach was a key factor in the success of the DB tender.
The BR-05 bridge project posed significant engineering challenges due to its complex geometry, which includes a transverse slope of 7% and a skew angle of 38 degrees.

To address these challenges, the superstructure of the bridge was built using precast technology, using precast prestressed U-shaped girders, with a cast-in-situ deck. The connection to the substructure was achieved through round elastomeric bearings.
